Town Square Sidewalk Improvements

Chariton, Iowa – Summer 2023 – Facing crumbling sidewalks and deteriorating underground cavities around the outside of their town square, the City of Chariton was looking for assistance in providing a safer and more uplifting atmosphere downtown.  Garden & Associates partnered with the City, with assistance from Genus Landscape Architects, Structural Engineers P.C., and KCL Engineering, to develop plans for improving the aesthetics and pedestrian safety.  New street and pedestrian lighting, brick paver insets, and planting beds were all incorporated into the project design.  Following two years of construction, the City of Chariton now has a beautified square which will be enjoyed by residents and visitors alike for years to come.
