Pella Community School District Tennis Courts

Pella, Iowa – Summer 2023 – PCSD had been playing tennis on 8 courts which were located in Caldwell Park; a City of Pella property just west of the High School.  They desired to construct a facility which had 12 courts and would better allow them to host tournament play.  Garden & Associates joined Neumann Monson Architects along with MODUS and Raker Rhodes Engineering to assist the District in making that dream a reality.  The District purchased a portion of the park from the City and replaced the existing courts with 12 new ones along with restrooms, a storage building, and an 80 vehicle parking lot.  Because of the property’s prior use as a landfill area, post-tensioned concrete was selected as the base course for the courts to better protect against potential settlement issues.  PCSD can now host tennis tournaments at a beautiful facility which they and the Pella community can take pride in.
