David Grandfield Joining Garden & Associates – Engineers and Surveyors, in Creston

Garden & Associates, Ltd., an Iowa based engineering and surveying company, has placed David Grandfield, E.I.T. in its Creston office.  Bob Nielsen, President of Garden & Associates said, “We are happy to have David join us in our efforts to satisfy the engineering needs of communities and private and commercial interests in southwest Iowa.  We believe David will prove to be a significant asset for our clients, as they work to capitalize on opportunities for growth and complete improvements which will benefit the residents and businesses in this part of Iowa.” 

Grandfield, a 2006 graduate of Iowa State University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, is returning home along with his wife to southwest Iowa after working as a Project Engineer for the Timmons Group, an engineering company located in Richmond, Virginia.  Grandfield, originally from Lorimor, is a 2002 graduate of East Union High School and 2004 graduate of Southwestern Community College.  He said, “I am excited about working with Garden & Associates, and my wife and I are glad to be moving back home.”  Grandfield’s wife, Jamie, grew up in Diagonal, Iowa and is a trained dental assistant.

Grandfield will immediately begin assisting with several ongoing Garden & Associates projects including the Cottonwood Street reconstruction and McKinley Park improvement in Creston, the Iris Avenue reconstruction project for Union County, and a water piping and treatment improvement project for the City of Stanton.

Some recent area projects completed by Garden & Associates include the Southern Iowa Rural Water Association 300,000 gallon water tower and pumping station in Taylor County, the 1.25 million gallon water tower and raw water piping repairs for the Creston City Water Works, the Utility Infrastructure Assessment for Southwestern Community College, and the Clarinda Water Booster Station for the Southwest Regional Water District.  Garden & Associates has also performed planning and design of residential and industrial developments in Creston, Lamoni, Lenox, and Osceola, design of downtown sidewalk projects in several communities, and numerous other water and wastewater system improvements. 

The engineering company opened its Creston office in 2007 in order to better serve the engineering needs of the Creston area and all of southwest Iowa.  For more than 60 years the engineers and surveyors at Garden & Associates have worked to improve drinking water and wastewater systems, to develop residential and commercial properties, and to construct numerous public and private improvements throughout Iowa.  Garden & Associates has built a reputation for providing creative and practical professional engineering services, with their staff of capable and dependable engineers and surveyors.
